Baotou Steel International Economic and Trading Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as BTSIETC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baotou Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. By taking full advantages of Baotou Steel Group′s scientific research, metallurgical construction, equipment, technology, labor services as well as abundant steel and rare earth resources, BTSIETC is devoted to promoting and expanding the export of steel products. At the same time, it is responsible for importing advanced technical equipment, spare parts and bulk raw materials like iron ore and coal to guarantee the production needs of Baotou Steel Group. As a "window" of Baotou Steel Group′s foreign trade, BTSIETC is also running non-steel trade business, which plays a unique and important role in Baotou Steel Group′s foreign economy and trade.
On April 25, 2005, BTSIETC was reorganized from the former China Metallurgical Import & Export Baotou Steel Co., Ltd., which had been founded in 1987 and a state-owned independent legal entity integrating industry, trade and technology registered by the government. BTSIETC is an exclusively-invested subsidiary of Baotou Steel Group.
BTSIETC is making efforts in exploring new steel products exports by taking full advantages of the scientific research, metallurgical construction, equipment, technology, labor services as well as abundant steel and rare earth resources of Baotou Steel Group-affiliated enterprises. Meanwhile, BTSIETC is contributing to building Baotou Steel Group into a cross-regional, cross-industrial and transnational modern enterprise, which needs to introduce a large number of advanced technical equipment and funds to expand foreign economy and trade.
